THE ART AND PHILOSOPHY OF PAUL DEIMOS
When You appreciate the beauty and uniqueness’ of things like Art, Nature, Spirituality, Poetry, Life, get energy.
And what I want to communicate my work or want to radiate upper atmosphere, such a level of spiritual advancement that radiates light around , and energy itself.
The color is something deep inside.
For example, often the use of yellow as I wanted to transmit light. Light that lives by its mysticism, transcendence. This color frees the mind from the illusion of material life to expand the super consciousness in a super dimension.
The color has its own symbolic language, spiritual, a going beyond the matter of meaning and sign.
The works of art, my “creatures”, they help to deep contemplation, a detachment of objective reality. Is like a journey of the mind. This journey takes the viewer to overlook whatever I was doing or thinking. Is like a spiritual and mystical experience, a transcendental journey. In this “journey” , I see in my art something amazingly profound
and absolute.
Light. In Paul Deimos’ s works, one is immersed in space and light. Creativity is open to the possibility of broadening the perception of the senses towards the permanent-offensive.
Outlines, research in tonalities, reworking of subjects. Colour and space live in their time, but
projected towards the future. Simplicity in form, line and colour which created a state of tranquility, beckoning the eye to the pure, aesthetic sense of beauty. Playing with colour gives form to real architecture composed.
The artist, Paul Deimos, defines all this as “movement” which becomes a progression in what is
space-time-movement. The MOVEMENT is a three-dimensional condition; it is an idea, the
metamorphosis of becoming, the fusion of the present with past perceptions. Memory is the secret where everything transforms itself.
And it is here that Deimos’s creations take shape: plastic forms are moulded, modeled into a sculpture of a mental and poetic vision and subject to a continual, subconscious analysis. No more signs, images… but forms that are “assemblages” of colour, tonality which, in their linearity are there to give a feeling of tranquility.
Paul Deimos seeks to provoke a reaction. Perhaps it is this, the meaning … of creating Art and “poetic writing” in forms that are free yet imprisoned in a soul that takes flight. Perhaps Deimos’s “creations” are not even Paintings but possibility structures, “”three-dimensional bodies”, souls that
pulsate and fly away.
Hardly ever in his works is nothing represented. There is, rather, a construction of interior agreements. Artist and guru, Paul Deimos, draws what he thinks , sees what he imagines, what he feels.
Dynamic three – dimensional is what guru Paul Deimos feels. He seeks the vibrant energy within an object, a colour, a shape or a material. Often there is a circle in his works: it represents the concentric energetic force that is the DIVINE VORTEX where everything is compressed within. It is the SYNTHESIS OF FEELING SUSPENDED.
Deimos starts out from the chaos of non-order, of total detachment from reality, devoting himself to a profound and absolute mystic meditation from which his “creatures” (as he loves referring to them ) originate.
What is life ? What is Art ? Guru Paul Deimos looks for the answers in his own spiritual being,
uniting what he sees with what is invisible, what he feels, experiences that “beyond” there is something that one cannot see… but sense, yes.
Having surmounted his first and most significant “abstract” period, guru Paul Deimos is now beginning a phase of architecture as seen in his sculptures on fabric, and form here starts the period of the most imaginative THREE-DIMENSIONALISM. It is the most sophisticated evolution of his research and the most refined and representative sonority. In this period the geometric figure is constantly present, fruit of an association of invisible elements which have, however, a rational valency.
Lines and shapes, rhythms interrupted by signs, all these are like ideas that are freed from the
constraints of a flat form, like a simple study of form.
Guru Deimos calls his painting “painting-T”, an aesthetic, pure, rational and essential study, never forgetting, however, a mystic, transcendental nature: It is a world of the conoscious -unconscious, made up of magical rites and rituals. Deimos seeks to provoke a reaction he wants the viewer to experience the emotion of “feeling”, before he has seen.
In Deimos’s works one continuously lives in a “suspended” world, a world that is mystic, gloomy yet sunny at the same time. One discerns a calm that is almost metaphysical and surreal. This is the moment of growing, of searching for a sense, the meaning of a “fait accomplish”.
The magic lies in the revelation of the manifested dream. One slowly discovers in the symbolic references that one finds in the shape, in the colour, in the poetry of signs.
Whoever looks not only asks for something pleasing to the eyes, but also for peace and harmony, to be transported elsewhere, away from the emotions of life and vision, to feel something within. The eye “feels” by meditatively scrutinizing the magic of art which then becomes spirituality. The eye absorbs bitter sadness and meditative gentleness.
The senses are hidden from the eye. Linearity is truth. Poetry and imagination. The linearity that reveals rhythm in its complete harmony and transports the senses within one’s state of mind. One is in a rarified and magical atmosphere. The desire to transmit sensations, emotions and mental images. Waking the sense which are still drowsy, interiorizing the “matter” that is there before us. The desire to transmit a message, to help others experience emotions only by “looking”, ”feeling” a work and maybe closing his eyes for a moment to allow himself to be transported by the senses through interior vibrations that anyone can experience.
The content is the message. Whoever feels it, experiences it. The movement could be in each one of us. You dream the vision for your soul. Mental lyrics. Mysticism in shapes that are dynamic and complex, as hot as they are cold. In the course of research you develop the illusory element: the work gives you ideas, the sensation of something that exists, starting from a reflection on the architecture constructed in the three-dimensional works and in those linear, yet purely material. The painting and the sculpture become communicating structures, fragments of ideas originally conceived in the subconscious and the realized. This is idea which lies in MOVEMENT.
A host of fragments connect and give life to an order – chaos which is plastic, energy and
mental. It is the spiritual sublime which is placed on the matter and in the matter it moulds itself into thousands of codes and an infinite number of subjective meanings.
Structures on other structures – these are the three-dimensional bodies of Deimos. The “creatures” live and they are able (at least they try) to expand the sensorial capacity of those who observe or who are simply listening.
The “creature” are like distant voices, laments, mystic callings with infinite meanings.
In progressive study, the chromatic effects connect amongst themselves, emitting sensations of distance, of fluidity, of profundity, of all that is in Heaven and on Earth.
The wealth of colour is embodied in a monochrome or in a multi-chrome which is plastic, dense, yet powerful and rhythmic like a wave that wants to demonstrate that it is unique and unrepeatable.
In the creation of a work of art, one feels closer to God, for the simple fact than God is Creation. And a work of art is in itself a lucid, divine manifestation which places itself in an avant-garde position of creation.
In Deimos’s words: God created me to give rise to the essence of creation. God manifests
Himself in my creatures”.
Art surprises, Art seduces, Art unsettles the senses.
